Acadia Food Pantry – April 2023 Fund Drive

In 2022, Albertans experienced:

In 2022, Acadia Food Pantry averaged 167 people per month, up 65% from 2021.

Since April 2019, the Acadia Food Pantry has provided free food to anyone experiencing food insecurity. Most are residents of Acadia and surrounding areas. It operates on the third Tuesday of every month from noon to 12:45 pm at McDougall United, 8516 Athabasca St. SE. For those who are unable to attend in person or have someone pick up for them, delivery may be available to those in our delivery zone (Glenmore Trail to Canyon Meadows Drive and 14th Street SW to Blackfoot Trail).

As a community-driven service operated fully by volunteers and supported by community organizations, agencies and three local churches, including McDougall United, the Pantry depends fully on donations. During COVID, the pantry was able to obtain a grant for the purchase of food, but these grants are no longer available.

During the month of April, the Pantry is asking for your financial help to continue offering essential food support to families in need.

Please consider donating to help the Acadia Food Pantry continue its valuable work.

Sustainers are needed! Will you pledge to be one of our monthly donors?

100% of your donation will be used for the purchase of food, and

donations are eligible for charitable tax receipts.
