Acadia Pantry
Free emergency food for residents of Acadia and nearby neighbourhoods (see map below).
Distributed on the third Tuesday of the month, 12 noon - 12:45pm.
With inflation and the high cost of housing, more and more of our neighbours are finding it difficult to afford food for their families. Established in April 2019, the Acadia Food Pantry (AFP) has provided free emergency food on a monthly basis to anyone in our community experiencing food insecurity. In 2024, AFP served an average of 260 people each month.
How can you help?
Volunteer
Acadia Food Pantry is grateful to have a dedicated group of volunteers. It is in need of volunteers who are able to do some of the more physical tasks such as lifting and relocating bins of food. If you are interested in becoming a volunteer at the pantry, or would like more information, please email acadiapantry@gmail.com.
Donate:
As a volunteer organization, AFP depends fully on donations to operate. 100% of every donation is used to buy food and supplies and donations are eligible for a charitable tax receipt. Please donate to support this great cause.
Acadia Food Pantry is organized by Acadia Network & Action Group with support from Lutheran Church of Our Saviour, Christ Moravian Church and McDougall United Church, as well as Chinook Rotary, City of Calgary Neighbourhood Strategies, and Trellis.
