ROBERTSON, Joyce Marie (nee Geil)
June 24, 1925 - April 19, 2013


Joyce Robertson of Father Lacombe Care Center, Calgary passed away peacefully at the Foothills Hospital on Friday, April 19, 2013 at the age of 87 years. Joyce was born in Lucky Lake, Saskatchewan June 24, 1925 to George and Tena Geil. In 1947, she married Bill Robertson and moved to Saskatoon where they raised their family of four daughters. She involved her daughters in the music and dance of her Scottish heritage and herself became an accomplished kilt maker. In 1966, the family moved to Calgary. Joyce enjoyed twenty years of managing the China department at Sears Chinook. Over the years, Joyce and Bill enjoyed traveling. Joyce was very active in both Mayfair United Church in Saskatoon and McDougall United Church in Calgary. She is survived by her daughters Diane Seaward, Iris-Dawn Naylor (John), Gwen Zimmer (Doug) and Fern Kerslake (Graham). She is also survived by grandchildren Bruce Seaward, Allan Naylor, Melanie Guest (Jesse), Jordan Zimmer (Heather), Katrina Zimmer, Kirstin Zimmer, Matthew Kerslake (Michelle), Andrew Kerslake and Travis Kerslake; great- granddaughters Alloya and Dahlia Guest; brother Lorne Geil; sister Verna Botham; and numerous nieces and nephews. Joyce was predeceased by her husband Bill, two sisters Dorothy and Nina and granddaughter Lindsay. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY'S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) today, April 26, 2013 from 7:00 to 9:30 p.m. A Celebration of Joyce's Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY'S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at 2:00 p.m.
