Scavenger Hunt Answers

A few weeks back I challenged you to see how well you know McDougall with a fun Scavenger hunt. Thanks to everyone who participated and sent in their answers. It is time to reveal the answers.

1.     Let’s start off easy, can you find the Tipi?

The Tipi can be found in the Sanctuary. If you have ever been curious about why we have it, learn more about it here.

2.     McDougall has a Reconciliation Mural; can you find it and tell me who painted the deer (hint you can see a list of painters on the wall)?

The deer was painted by Shauna Kennedy. She is one of the visionaries behind the Reconciliation Mural along with Rev. Danah Cox. You can learn more about our Reconciliation Mural here.

3.     Find McDougall’s Library, in the graphic novel section look for a book titled “Flamingo World”, who is the McDougall member who authored the book?

The graphic novel “Flamingo World” was written and illustrated by Theodore Chavez. He is one of the kids that attends McDougall. This is his first graphic novel. You can learn more about McDougall’s library here.

4.     Our Homeschool Group meets in Hospitality Hall, can you find the paper airplane that flew a little too high?

If you look on the white air ducts, the paper airplane is on the 4th duct from the kitchen side.  

5.     When will McDougall’s Time Capsule be opened? (Hint, you can find it below one of our message screens).

McDougall created a time capsule in November 2006 and it will be opened in June 2036 for its 75th anniversary. You can find a plaque with details about this time capsule under the message screen across from the chapel. The time capsule is found in the floor under the plaque.

6.     How much does a Hot Chocolate cost at the Coffee Machine?

7.     Can you find the plaque way up in the Sanctuary on a support beam?

You have to look way up to find this one…The plaque is on the east beam to the right of the windows. The plaque contains the name of the person with the correct guess on when the beams were going to be placed.

8.     In the Sanctuary there is a stain glass of Jesus with some children. What colour are the flowers that are being given to Jesus?

The flowers on this beautiful stain glass ae blue.

9.     In the chapel, find the memorial stained glass and tell me what year it was commissioned?

The stained glass was commissioned in 2008. You can find a plaque in the chapel with more information.

10. In Hospitality Hall, what instrument is being played in the tree mural on the wall?

That would be a trumpet.
