Youth Group Quarterly Report

The youth have gathered online on zoom twice a month on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays in the evening each month during the first quarter.

 In our first gathering in January, we had a explored the story of Noah and the Ark through activities, conversation and games.  Later in the month we did some baking over zoom making Apple Turnovers together.

 In February we explored the Transfiguration Story at the beginning of the month.  Later in the month we gathered earlier in the day and made dinner together over zoom. Each family adding a personal touch to the chilli we made that night.

 In March we did an evening focusing on Healthy Relationships.  Tara Jorgensen led the discussion and we had the youth groups from Northminster United Church and Woodcliff United Church join us as we explored this topic together through discussion, conversations, video and games. We planned to bake together later in the month to make Empty Tombs from scratch, but the youth decided they would rather have a discussion night and play a few games instead.

 In April we did a joint youth group games night with Northminster UC and Woodcliff UC adding some new faces to a fun evening together.  At the end of the month, we watched a YouTube video from the Naked Faith Service that is prepared by St. Andrew’s Regional Ministry.  This video started a great discussion, and sparked the youths’ curiosity about what other youth activities are happening in the wider church that they can get involved in.
