It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Lee Beattie on Thursday December 26, 2024 at the age of 78 years.
Lee’s celebration of life service, is held on Saturday, January 4, at 11 AM, at McDougall United Church.
OBITUARY
Lee is survived by his wife Jackie of fifty-six years, son Darren (Pat), daughters, Terri (Tom) Pettifor and Christi (Jeff) Hayes; grandchildren, Andrew, Sarah, Taylor, Hunter, Christian (Sive) and Joshua; and great-grandchildren, Saoirse and Eoin.
He is also survived by his brother Dale (Annette), sister Sharon (Grant) Coakwell, and brother-in-law Gregg (Ellen) Gower, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Faye and Joe Beattie.
Lee was born and raised in Dinsmore, SK, until he left for university at the age of seventeen. After he graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, he embarked on his career in the oil and gas industry. He started at Texaco Canada, then moved on to Pan Canadian Petroleum. He also consulted with his own company Petropro for ten years before retiring.
Lee was a kind, gentle spirit with a sly, dry sense of humour. He was affectionately known as a tease. He enjoyed many sports from an early age, especially golf and curling in his later years. Lee always prioritized his love for family and friends.
