MARY MEGLEY
August 14, 1932 - December 9, 2023

OBITUARY
In gratitude for her life and with sadness we announce the passing of Mary Megley (nee Huculak) on December 9, 2023. Mary died peacefully at her care home in Edmonton. Mary is survived by her children: Lori Megley-Best (Greg); Leslie Lanyi (Rick); and Richard Megley. And by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Ben Best (Erin), Emilia and Kye; Jacob Best; Sam Best; Nick Best (Alicia); Claire Blacklock (Chris), Charlie, Joey and Rosie; Stephen Lanyi (Kelly), Lola.
And by her sister, Joyce.

Mary was predeceased by her husband Steve Megley in 2011 and by her siblings- Peter, Royanne, and Larry.

Mary was born on a farm near Willingdon, Alberta, met Steven Megley at a baseball game and was married on May 16, 1953. Together they lived in Edmonton, until 1971, when they moved to Calgary. Mary worked as an accounts person at the Edmonton Petroleum Club and then as a library clerk for the Calgary Board of Education until her retirement. Together Mary and Steve were active in their church, square dancing, round dancing and cross country skiing. Grandma Megley had a lot of energy and was always known for cooking delicious meals, sewing colorful outfits for her grandchildren and always, always for having fun. We will miss her sense of humor, love and generous hospitality.
May she rest in peace and rise in glory.
