Ian Harold Clayton of Calgary died at peace Thursday, September 19, 2013 at the Rosedale Hospice. Ian grew up in the Chestermere area graduating from U of C with a B.Mus. performance saxophone and B. Ed. Ian was a celebrated professional musician who devoted his life to his passion. During his career in music he played with many bands, combos, as well as performing solo. Ian played with the trio "Cornerpocket" for over thirty years at the Banff Springs Hotel dining room and other similar venues, warming the hearts of many people with his unique sound. Ian enjoyed helping to seed and harvest crops in season on the family farm with Barrie and Carol. He will be greatly missed by his many friends and family. He is survived by his loving wife Marlene of thirty- eight years, his son Paul, daughter Laurel and son-in-law Jason Garner, brother Barrie and sister-in-law Carol, along with many nieces and nephews.
