Blaine Chornawka passed away suddenly on July 31, 2012 at the age of 48 years old. Blaine will be lovingly remembered by Donna, his wife of 22 years, his children Kirsten and Carter, his mother Holly, his siblings Brian, Sherry, Shirley, Barry (Kay), Ben, and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, colleagues and friends. He was predeceased by his father, George. Blaine was born in Fort William, Ontario, and at the age of three weeks old, traveled with his family to Saltcoats, Saskatchewan. Blaine loved the lake at Saltcoats, but at six years old, they moved to Calgary and then onto Crowsnest Pass, and then back to Calgary. Upon his final return to Calgary, Blaine's natural salesman talents lead him to a successful career in Real Estate, and also with the Better Business Bureau. Blaine was a very loving and dedicated husband, father, colleague and friend. He had a natural ability to talk to anyone he came across, making them feel special. His canny sense of humor always brought a laugh and smile that made everyone's day that much better. Whatever he did, he did so from his heart with trust and compassion. His most important pride and love was for his family, whom he loved and supported so very much. He had an open heart and open door for all. In his spare time, he enjoyed cooking, playing cards and games, and entertaining with family and friends. He was very passionate about his volunteer work with the Inn from the Cold. Blaine made friends wherever he went and will be lovingly missed by all whose lives he touched. Funeral Services will be held at McDougall United Church, 8516 Athabasca Street S.E., Calgary, AB on August 4 at 1:00 p.m. A Celebration of Life will follow from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Delta Calgary South, Bonavista Room, 135 Southland Drive S.E., Calgary, AB.
