HASICK, Nancy (nee Henderson)
March 8, 1932 – February 22, 2014

Nancy Hasick passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at the age of 81 years. She is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Gordon and Janet Major of Calgary and their children, Sasha, Aidan, and Walter; and Murray and Teresa of Kelowna and their son Colin of Calgary. She was predeceased by her husband Jack in 2008. Nancy was generous with her time, volunteering with a number of local Associations – Heart to Heart, the United Way, McDougall Church and over 45 years with the Rockyview Hospital Auxiliary. She was also active in the Maple Ridge and Douglasdale Ladies Golf groups, and enjoying bowling with the Maple Ridge golf ladies every Thursday. Nancy was also very involved with family business activities – as the first receptionist for son Gordon, and "office administrator" for Jack's agency. As part of Jack's business, they travelled together extensively across North America loving nothing more than loading up the van and heading to Victoria, Palm Springs or just touring around BC for a week or two. The family would like to thank her neighbours at The Manors at West Park, and many friends from McDougall Church, Living Spirit Church and her golf and bowling groups who supported her in the last few months, driving Nancy to appointments and helping with meals and other chores. A heartfelt thank you also to Alberta Health Services – Senior and Palliative Care staff and CBI Home Health who made the journey so much easier these past few weeks. Finally, thanks to Drs. Baverstock and Botha who provided excellent care and attention to Nancy during the past few years. A Celebration of Nancy's Life will be held at McDougall United Church (8516 Athabasca Street S.E., Calgary, AB) on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at 10:30 a.m.
