Helen Mildred Boyd of Calgary passed away on Thursday, May 8, 2009 at the age of 95 years. Helen loved spending time with family and grandchildren during Christmas and special occasions. She also enjoyed gardening, watching curling and golf, crossword puzzles, as well as camping and fishing with her family on vacations to the Kelowna, Penticton and Fairmont Hot Springs. She was very active at McDougall United Church attending on a regular basis and helping with the Friendship Club. Helen is survived by her son Larry (Alison) Boyd; grandchildren Sean, Erin and Trevor; two sisters Margaret Gallaugher, Mill Olson and brother-in-law Glen; brother Millar Hackney and sister-in-law Marion; as well as numerous extended family. She was predeceased by her husband Doug; and granddaughter Laura. A Celebration of Helen's Life will be held at McDougall United Church (8516 Athabasca Street S.E.) on Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at 1:30 p.m.
