Gil Spielman

SPIELMAN , Emil Gilbert
September 14, 1929 - September 27, 2009

Gilbert is survived by Jeanette, his loving wife of fifty-seven years. He passed away suddenly on Sunday, September 27 at the age of 80 years. Gilbert will be lovingly remembered by his children: Timothy (Margaret) Spielman and Teresa (Trevor) Anderson of Calgary. He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren: Megan, Clayton and Kelsey Anderson as well as Jennifer and Kimberly Spielman. Gil was predeceased by his first grandchild Matthew Anderson. He is survived by his sisters, Phillis Klippert and Eunice Srigley. He was predeceased by his siblings Bill, Kay, Bud and Wally. Gil's need to help people was clearly demonstrated through his contributions to Fairview Community by volunteering, coaching and helping the kids in the community. Gilbert enjoyed a long retirement where he had the opportunity to enjoy fishing, taking cruises with his wife and spending time with his family. Relatives and friends are invited to a Funeral Service to be held at McDougall United Church at 8516 Athabasca Street S.E., Calgary with Reverend Jim Hillson officiating.
