OBITUARY OF DAISY DOREEN KEMPT

August 10, 1929 – Calgary, Alberta November 15, 2017 – Calgary, Alberta Doreen Kempt, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully in Calgary on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at the age of 88 years. Doreen was born in Calgary and was the loving and caring mother of eight children. She was always proud of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, often boasting of their accomplishments. Doreen worked at Montreal Trust for a number of years, as well as at the Calgary Herald. Doreen was very active with the Ramsay Home and School Association and Knox United Church. Doreen will be deeply missed by her children, Doug (Leona) Kempt, Lynn (Linda) Kempt, Laurie (Morey) Cowan, Lesley (Chuck) Young, Kevin (Tracey) Kempt, Leanne Kempt and Debra (Ardo) Bacchiega; 18 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Bob of 67 years; and their son Jeffrey; sisters Marguerite and Georgina; and her brother Gordon. Funeral services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY (Chapel of the Bells, 2720 Centre Street North) on Friday, November 24, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. Graveside service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery. Reception to follow at the Funeral Home. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to a charity of the donors choice
