Elva Strong

It is with sincere regret that we report the passing of our mother Elva Strong in Calgary, January 25, 2019. Elva recently celebrated her 90th birthday which was attended by a large number of friends and family.

Mourning the loss of Elva are her children: Daniel Strong, Betty-Ann (Clint) Domansky, and David Strong (Doremy Tyrrell); her three grandchildren: Katie (Jeroen), Jon (Melissa), and Joel (Stephanie); and numerous nieces and nephews, as well as friends. Elva was predeceased by her husband Glenn Strong; her parents Nils and Eva Ekeland; her sister and best friend Evelyn Christie; and her brother Norval Ekeland.

Elva was quite involved with McDougall United Church, enjoying spending time with her friends and seniors group, which she had been involved with for many years. She also enjoyed many leisurely activities, including driving herself to the hair salon and socializing with family and friends.

Per Elva's wishes, a private family Graveside Service was held, followed by a Celebration of Life at the Southern Alberta Pioneers Lodge on February 2, 2019.
