We hope that you will be able to join us to paint flower pots and then enjoy dinner on Saturday, May 10. This event is open to All Ages and families of all types.

The registration cost for this event is $5 per person with donations collected at the door. We understand that this can be a tough financial time for many, if the cost of the event is a deterrent to your attendance please use code “ASSISTANCE” during check out and your cost will be covered. We want you to attend and are happy to accept a donation for whatever you can contribute. Donations are happily accepted at the door for any amount (big or small) and help us cover some of the costs of the event.

If you would like to pay the office cash (during office hours), please use code “PAIDOFFICE”. If you would like to pay by e-transfer to office@mcdunited.com, please use code “E-TRANSFER”. We will verify with the office to ensure payment has been made.

Advanced registration is required and closes Thursday, May 8 at 7 am. There is a waiting list you can sign up for once the event is full or registration has closed. You will be contacted if a spot opens up for you.

(Red Deer Lake) Open Table: Mardi Gras Creole Dinner & Mask Making!

Please register by Friday February 28th at 3PM

Date: Tuesday March 4

Time: 5:30PM 

What: A Creole inspired dinner with a family activity of mask making while learning about the history of Mardi Gras with Rev. Danah Cox. Registration is required. The dinner will be followed by a service of ashes for those wishing to take part as we prepare for Lent.

Open Table: Family Dance

Open Table has teamed up with the Monday Homeschool Group to bring you a family dance. We hope that you will be able to join us!

Tickets cost $10 per family if purchased in advance ($15 at the door). Online registration will close Friday, March 8 at 7 pm (at the $10 per family rate) . After this please plan to pay $15 per family at the door. Limited space is available, we encourage you to register in advance to avoid disappointment if the event fills up.

We will have a concession available where you will be able to purchase pizza, drinks and snacks at the event. We encourage you to bring cash. Tickets will be 1 for $2.50, 5 for $10. You can then use tickets to purchase the items you want (example 1 ticket = 1 piece of pizza).

All the money raised will be split with the Family Ministry and Homeschool Group.

Congregation Christmas Dinner

We hope that you will be able to join us for a Christmas Dinner followed by musical entertainment.

Menu: Ham, baked potato bar (with toppings including vegetarian chili), vegetables and dessert.

This event will take place during our Open Table event. Open Table participants will be arriving at 4 pm to decorate Gingerbread Houses prior to the dinner.

Open Table: Gingerbread House Decorating & Ham Dinner

We hope that you will be able to join us for Gingerbread House decorating followed by a Christmas Dinner. Participants are encouraged to get creative and show off their individual style in their Gingerbread house. Following the activity we will eat a Christmas themed dinner. Musical entertainment will follow after dinner.

Menu: Ham, baked potato bar (with toppings including vegetarian chili), vegetables and dessert.

This event is open to All Ages and families of all types. Grab a group of friends and come and enjoy decorating a Gingerbread house together.

The cost to attend this event is $5 and includes the Gingerbread House (1 house for every 3 people in your group) as well as dinner. We understand that this can be a tough financial time for many, if the cost of the event is a deterrent to your attendance please use code “December” during check out and your cost will be covered. We want you to attend and are happy to accept a donation for whatever you can contribute. Donations are happily accepted at the event for any amount and help us cover some of the costs of the event.

Open Table: Pumpkin Carving

We hope that you will be able to join us for our annual pumpkin carving. Families will be encouraged to get creative and then show off the finished product in our pumpkin line up.

Following the pumpkin carving you are invited to join us for hot dogs, drink and chips. Food will need to be pre-purchased. The cost is $5 for hot dogs, drink and chips (gluten free buns are available for an extra charge).

This event is open to All Ages and families of all types. Grab a group of friends and come and enjoy the tradition of carving a pumpkin together.

The cost to attend the pumpkin carving portion is free. We are asking for a minimal amount to cover our food costs for dinner. Please contact Sarah if you would like assistance with the cost (we want everyone who wants to come to be able to).

Advanced registration is required and closes Wednesday, October 18 at 1 pm.

Depending on numbers, we are aiming for one pumpkin for every three people.

Reconciliation Mural Unveiling

Join us for the Reconciliation Mural unveiling on Saturday, September 23 from 1 - 4 pm. All are invited to drop in to see this beautiful indoor mural painted by over 70 Indigenous and non-Indigenous people from 4 to 94 years old. Come see the mural, speak with the Indigenous Knowledge Keepers who helped shape the project, and meet some of the artists. Bannock, hors d'oeuvres, and tea and coffee will be served.

Open Table - Reconciliation Mural: Saturday Painting Option

Two options are available for painting, this is the Saturday, May 13 option.

At 4 pm you will learn more about the project and hear from an Indigenous speaker and start working on your canvas. Please note that younger children may be asked to complete their canvas with a parent.

Food will be provided around 5:15 pm.

While the event is scheduled to end at 6 pm, you are invited to stay longer if you need the time to finish your piece.

Reconciliation Mural: Sunday Painting Option

Two options are available for painting, this is the Sunday, April 30th option.

At 12:30 pm we will start in the Sanctuary where you will learn more about the project and hear from an Indigenous speaker.

Then around 1 pm you will move into Hospitality Hall where food will be provided. After eating lunch you will be able to start painting.

While the event is scheduled to end at 3:30 pm, you are invited to stay longer if you need the time to finish your piece. If you finish early, you are welcome to leave or stick around to chat.

Open Table: King Cake & Mask Making Party Celebrating Carnival

Behind the Mask: Learn little know but amazing facts about carnival from a local New Orleanian

Enjoy authentic food with options for the pickier eater. Mask making activity while learnig about the history of Mardi Gras.
