We are looking for artists of all ages and abilities to submit work for our Lenten Holy Week Art Installation. Any two-dimensional art is acceptable, this includes colleges, poetry, paintings, etc.
A community art exhibit displayed at Red Deer Lake & McDougall United Church focusing on themes related to Good Friday and the Passion of Christ. The exhibit will be set up in the Chapel at Red Deer Lake for Palm Sunday (April 13) and available to view Monday-Thursday from 10:00AM-2:30PM. Exhibit will then be transported to the McDougall site Chapel where it will be available to view before/after the Good Friday Service, Holy Saturday 12-3PM, and Easter Sunday.
Studio time will be available on Saturdays between 10:30 - 2:30 pm at McDougall for you to create your piece(s) in community or you are more than welcome to work at home or a combination of the two. Supplies can be provided.
Once you express your interest in getting more information, you will get emailed a packet with scriptures, images to inspire, example artist statements and focus questions. Use these resources to inspire and guide you in creating your piece(s).
Each piece that is submitted will need to include an artist statement (a brief description of what inspired you or about the piece). Artist statements will be due Thursday, April 10th with all art dropped of by Saturday, April 12th. More information will be included in your packet.
