Youth Group: Joint Event Okotoks United Church

Recently McDougall’s Youth Group did a join event with Okotoks United Church. We went to Light Up Okotoks, which is an outdoor Christmas market/celebration that the town of Okotoks blocks off Main street for. People/ businesses hand out hot chocolate and snacks, there are Christmas lights and music, fires to warm up by, and at the end of the evening there was a fireworks display. We split up into two groups and Rev Julia gave each group $50 to donate to their organization of choice that was represented. One group gave to the Big Rock Animal Clinic and the other group gave to Okotoks Pride. After Light It Up, we went back to the church for snacks and discussion. Both youth groups are looking forward to doing more collaborative events in the future.
