Marketing and Fundraising Third Quadrimestre Report (September – December 2024)

It was a busy time for the Marketing and Fundraising Group at the end of last year as we had two Fundraisers: our Fall Artisan Market and then our Turkey Dinner. More information about the two events as well as some of the other fundraising initiatives that happened at the end of the year are below.

  • Fall Artisan Market: We held our first ever market on Saturday, October 5th. We featured over 20 different local handmade vendors, had a bistro, bake table and silent auction. It was well attended by the community and congregation and feedback was mostly positive. This event raised over $3,400.

  • Turkey Dinner, Variety Show and Silent Auction: We held this event on November 1st. Attendees enjoyed a Turkey dinner that was catered by EthniCity Catering and performances by a “Very Large Quartet” (featuring 21 performers) from Acapela Road singing popular melodies in Barbershop Harmony style and a combo from Hippocratic Oath Big Band playing songs from the Big Band era. A silent auction was held as part of the event. We raised just under $3,000.

  • Gift Cards: Gift card orders continue to happen monthly (weekly through Christmas). We did do a Back to School Gift Card Challenge to raise awareness and challenge people to use gift cards. Congratulations Ron on winning a Tim Horton’s gift card.

Thank you to the following for your active participation in one (or more) of our fundraising groups: Barrie Clayton, Bob Mutlow, Dianne Wilkinson, Frank Kurucz, Jean MacEachern, June Clarke, Leslie Stoddart, Marilyn Bates, Pat Shea, Paula Sangster, Penny Bailey, Sarah Reuangrith and Valerie MacLeod. A huge thank you also needs to go out to the numerous volunteers that showed up on the day of our events to assist.

Save the dates: In 2025 we have two events locked down; Fall Artisan Market on October 4, 2025, and a Christmas Dinner and Silent Auction for December 5, 2025.

Thank you everyone for your support in 2024. We continue to expand our fundraising efforts and as such are looking to grow our team in 2025. In particular, we are looking for a volunteer coordinator for our bigger events as well as someone to assist with community advertising. We are happy to welcome anyone interested in helping whether it is for one event in a small capacity or a leadership role in another.
