  • It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Joy Bekker on April 24, 2023 at the age of 84 years. Learn more about Joy by visiting her Candle Memorial.

  • The Pastoral Care Team was very pleased with the Seniors' Luncheon held on Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at noon and the 75 seniors and friends who attended. Learn more about it and see pictures here.

  • On April 29th we hosted a movie afternoon. Learn more about how it went here.

  • Open Table: Reconciliation Mural Wrap Up With Pictures - April 30, 2023: On April 30 McDougall hosted the first of two Reconciliation Mural painting days. Each participant was given a canvas to paint that will eventually become part of a larger Reconciliation Mural that will be hung in the West hallway of the church. Continue reading.

  • On May 2nd God at the Movies went to see “Champions”.

  • On May 3rd the Right Relations group hosted an Indigenous Red Dress Day Pin Making Workshop. This event proved very popular and was sold out before it was advertised.

  • It is with sadness that we inform you of the passing of Kathleen Hatlelid on May 3 in British Columbia, at the age of 99 years, following complications from a stroke. Learn more by visiting Kathleen’s Candle Memorial.

  • Camp Kasota Schedule: Our family camp weekend at Camp Kasota is less than a month away on June 9 - 11, 2023. We are very excited to announce the schedule of events for the weekend.

  • Resurrect Conference: Update from Nik Sloat, Family Minister Support Worker: Resurrect was a huge success! Resurrect was a conference hosted by First Metropolitan United Church in Victoria, BC. It was organized primarily by Rob Crosby-Schearer, who is a minister with Abbey Church, and is the regional Minister of Church Planting for the Pacific Mountain Region, as well as Amy Haynes, who has been actively involved with the Chinook Winds region united church, primarily in Pastoral Care, and has studied at Vancouver School of Theology.   • It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Dorothy "Dot" Torpe on May 21, 2023 at the age of 93 years. Learn more about Dot by visiting her Candle Memorial.

  • A huge congratulations needs to go out Karina H for achieving 4 national records on Friday, May 26 in Power Lifting. She got Strict Curl (her age as well as open in weight class 56 Kg) and Military Press (her age as well as open). She curled 65 lbs and pressed 66 lbs. Way to go Karina!!!!! Pictured is Karina with her 100lb loaded deadlift warm up weight. Karina has the Canadian National at 187lbs. All the plaques in the background are hers. 20 Nationals and 2 Worlds (now 24 nationals and 2 worlds). Many members of the choir went to cheer her on.

  • Meet Your Leadership Council: 2023 Council Members: I hope that you have enjoyed meeting individual members of the Leadership Council for the last several weeks. If you missed any of them, you can view them all by here.
