March News

  • On February 14th, Indigenous participants were invited to McDougall United for the Reclaiming Our Spirits - Ribbon Skirt Workshop. Learn more about this amazing event here.

  • On March 5, 2023 the Camp Kasota team hosted a fundraiser lunch. Learn more and see photos here.

  • Starting March 7, the office is open 10 - 2 pm Tuesday through Friday.

  • Volunteer Tribute: Shauna Kennedy: McDougall has been fortunate to have Shauna Kennedy continue to volunteer doing videography projects for this church and the Chinook Winds Region after leaving her position as McDougall's Communication Coordinator. Each project takes considerable time and talent to complete. We sincerely thank Shauna and Lila for sharing their skills in this valuable work.

  • On March 11, 2023 McDougall hosted a make your own pizza night, with the pizza dough made in house. Check out some of the photos here.

  • On March 12, 2023 we celebrated Pie Day after the service. We use the acronym PIE because it's easy to remember and stands for Public, Intentional, and Explicit: PIE represents three ways for us to test just how real our Affirmation and celebration of gender or sexual diversity is. Below are some pictures from Pie Day. Thank you to everyone who brought pie.

  • It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of our beloved husband, father, and grandfather Robert (Bob) Allison Hacock on Saturday, March 18, 2023, at the age of 85. You can see Bob’s candle memorial here.

  • On March 19, 2023 we welcomed three new people into our faith community through baptism: Kyky, Thea and Skyla Reuangrith. Below are a few pictures from the service. Alternatively, you can view the baptism by watching the service, it is around the 27 minute mark. Watch the March 19th service.

  • The Spring session for Heritage Time Out will be starting April 5, 2023. Learn more here.

  • Volunteer Spotlight: Rudy Rumpel: Back in February we had two separate people email in about Rudy and how wonderful he is. Instead of posting them back to back, I opted to save one for later. Here you go: McDougall United is so grateful for the handiwork of Rudy Rumpel throughout the church over the past couple of weeks. Rudy has been painting in the Hospitality Hall/kitchen, organizing the kitchen including: taking in the bottle recycling, putting up storage hooks for brooms etc, fixing and cleaning the taps; fixing toilet fixtures in the washrooms, and so much more! We are so lucky to have skilled people like Rudy making McDougall the best it can be.

  • Community Mural Project: All ages and painting skills are welcome to paint a 1 foot square (30 cm square) canvas on Sunday, April 30 or Saturday, May 13.  The result will be one large mural to be installed in the brightly lit southwest entrance of the church. Learn more.

  • Have you ever wondered why we have a Tipi in McDougall? If so, you should read this blog.

  • We are very excited to be brining back “It’s Cool in the Furnace” as our spring musical. Learn more about the show and how you can participate.

  • A huge thank you goes out to the following people who participated in our call to worship and skit during lent: Adam Schlinker, Jennifer Heidebrecht, Peggy Jorgensen, Ron Bierwirth, Dave Swanson, Wally Shoults, Margaret Holden-Scott

This list will continue to be updated as they are provided. It will be shared with the congregation at the beginning of April.
