Fundraising at McDougall: Do you participate, on a regular basis, in McDougall’s Fundraiser, Gift Cards?

The gift cards are actually retail cards to be used for your personal purchases.

There are cards for Purchases of: Groceries (Super Store, No Frills, Sobey, Safeway, M&M): Gasoline (Esso, Petro Canada, Shell): National Stores (Walmart,  Winners, Home Sense, Marshalls, Hudson Bay, Canadian Tire, Home Depot, Lowes, Dollarama, Amazon.ca, Nordstrom, Gap, Mark’s, Roots, Pet Smart, Shoppers, Chapters, Indigo & others).

Additionally there are cards for 20+ restaurants , Adult and Children Apparel, Office supplies, Toys, Electronics, Entertainment, Health, Beauty, Home, Garden, Sports,  Movie Theatres, Travel and Pets.

The idea for the Fund Scrip fundraiser was recommended to us by a PEI  Congregation about the same size as McDougall, They advised that with the Congregation supporting the fund raiser they raised between $8,000 and $ 10,000 per year.

Currently we have about 6 to 8 regulars that use the gift cards to buy their groceries and other items, which generates approximately $1,200 to $1,500 per year in income to McDougall.

Just imagine, if an additional 20 to 25 people concerned about McDougall’s deficit, just bought  $300 of their monthly groceries using gift cards acquired through McDougall’s fundraiser, it would generate additional income of approximately $3,000 per year.

The Fund Raiser goal is to increase use of the gift cards, amongst McDougall’s supporters, to generate income in excess of $10,000 per year for McDougall.

It does not cost extra, as the credit on the card equals the amount paid for the card.

We place orders once a month January to October on the 2nd Sunday of the month, November and first 2 weeks of December orders are weekly to facilitate your Christmas shopping.

Your Gift Card Fundraiser Team is in Hospitality Hall each Sunday to take your orders and to answer questions.

You can learn more about the Gift Card Fundraiser by visiting their webpage.
