Daft Punk Medley - Daft Punk, arr. Pentatonix (performed by Pentatonix)
Okay, time for some pop music. What a great arrangement this is. Pentatonix is one of the world's best a cappella groups, originally forming to compete in The Singoff, a televised a capella competition. Since winning the competition, they've created several albums, and now tour all over the world to perform live.
The main draw of the a cappella genre (which means “without accompaniment”), is using only voices to create complete-sounding arrangements of pop, rock, jazz, folk. All the sounds you hear have been created with the artists' voices, including the percussion. Beatboxing is a very specific, difficult skill: creating similar sounds to a drumset with a beat and groove that complements the music. This is the job I do for my a capella group- nowhere near as well as this is done, though.
If you like Pentatonix, check out some of their other music. They have an excellent version of Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah.
