Queen Ann Ruler of the Universe

The writer of this short story is Murray who is a student of Ann Gardner’s Extending Education (EE) class. This program has been meeting at McDougall for the past three years and serves the educational and social needs of young adults with all abilities.

EE class lets me keep learning. I meet new peers, teachers from the library, church staff and other workers. I have fun with friends. We laugh, learn,cry, and joke together. We brainstorm on the whiteboard, and do fun experiments like Coke and Mentos, hoop flyers and catapults. We build with Lego, make zip lines and marble mazes.

When the virus made us all stay home we learned to do Zoom on-line with our class.

We do folders, post homework, and can mute ourselves. We did straw rockets, paper airplanes, growing plants from food scraps, Lego towers and bridges. I learned how to use Apps like PicCollage. I make cards for my family and friends on-line. We share SGN (SomeGoodNews) and stay happy.

At Henry Wise Wood High School we had the best teacher in the World/Universe! She was the Boss/Queen! We followed her class rules. She should have married George Clooney. We called her QAROTU! (Queen Ann Ruler of The Universe) When I was sad to be home all the time because of the Virus she came to visit me at my house. It was the Best Day Ever!!
