2021 - Q3 Pastoral Care Report June to September 2021

Members : Esther Petersen (Chair) , Sharon Hudspeth, Shirley Wilding, Anne Trotter, Katie Mutlow, Lorna Herdman, Joan Johnston (Roll Clerk) 

        Anne Trotter resigned from the committee in August.

        We need more members in our committee.

The Pastoral Care Committee had Zoom meetings on  August 11 and Sept. 7.

The Pastoral Care committee was very pleased with the hiring of Rev. Marilyn Evans when there was no one to take the 0.5 minister position. Rev. Evans is very experienced and dedicated to Pastoral Care. We are confident in Rev. Evans and her caring and efficient way of contacting and visiting McDougall ill and shut in seniors. She started early and was in charge when Rev. Joanne Anquist was on holidays. Her caring and warm words are a comfort to the family and patients in Pallative Care. We appreciate all the extra hours she commits to Pastoral Care beyond her 12 hour per week pay.

The Prayer Circle group faithfully prays for the church and its members.

The Prayer Shawl group continues to make shawls which Rev. Evans has taken to seniors. More shawls would be appreciated.

The Memorial Garden was maintained by Linda Dyck and her group and cleaned up in the fall.

The Fall Phone Out will be in October under the leadership of Shirley Wilding.

Eleanor Anderson sends cards on special birthdays, anniversaries, and other occasions as directed by Rev. Evans

Friends and concerned members of McDougall have continued to connect  and contact other members of McDougall during the continuing COVID pandemic.
