William Ward Meadows, of Calgary, loving husband and best friend, father and grandfather, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 27, surrounded by his beloved family at the age of 92 years. Bill was born in Brandon, Manitoba on July 23, 1922. After his schooling in Brandon, he served in WWII as a Radar Mechanic, posted primarily in Great Britain and West Africa until his discharge in 1945. He was employed 35 years in Grain Cleaning and Handling, first with Northland Machinery and then Westeel Rosco in both Winnipeg and Thunder Bay. His early retirement winters were spent in South Texas with much-loved family and friends. Bill was a true Renaissance Man. He loved to create and design anything - from model airplanes to jewellery to a travel trailer. After suffering a stroke, he took up reading classic novels. Despite these diverse interests, his main joy in life came from his family. The family of Bill Meadows wishes to thank Dr. Brent Kinnie, Dr. Debra Isaac, Rockyview Hospital Cardiac Care Clinic, Alberta Health Services Cardiac Home Care Team and the Emergency Room Staff of the South Health Campus for their wonderful care and support over the last four years.
