VERNON, Lucille Oneta (nee Wynne)
November 5, 1911 - October 18, 2012

Lucille Vernon of Calgary passed away on Thursday, October 18, 2012 at the age of 100 years. Lucille was born in Vancouver and following her marriage to Mel they lived in Banff, AB from 1936 to 1955, Calgary from 1955 to 1970, Sicamous from 1970 to 1993 and she has resided in Calgary since 1993. She was a member of the Eastern Star in Banff. Lucille is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Donold and Carole Vernon and Lawrence and Alyce Vernon; grandsons, Peter (Kelly), Martin (Sandy) and Ken (Stacey); grandchildren Wanda (Jim) and Nathan (Jodi) and their mother Linda (Sam); four great-grandchildren Sara (Chris) and their daughter Mara, Amanda, Noelle, and Kaileigh; extended family including four grandchildren, Granger (Connie), Melody (Alan), Allison (David), and Jillian (Kris) and nineteen great-grandchildren, Brandon (Mana) and their son Ashton, Gavin (Megan), Chelsie, Tanner, Dallin, Benson, Harmony and her children Logan, Melanna, Colton and Landan, Jarom (Joslyn) and their daughters Lexi and Quinn, Aaron, Andrew, Jonathan, Chloe, Joel, Alysa and her daughter Taylor, Alexandra, Bronwyn, Ariana, Joshua and Adrian. She was predeceased by her husband Melville, her loving parents; George and Mary Winn, her brother Frank Wynne and sisters; Madeline Herron and Hazel Reynolds. Lucille's family wish to send sincere thanks to the staff of Extendicare Cedars Villa Nursing Home and in particular the loving care provided to her on the Willow Unit. Funeral Services will be held at McDougall United Church (8516 Athabasca Street S.E.) on Friday, October 26, 2012 at 2:00 p.m
