April 1, 2015 - Calgary, Alberta

Trude Tackaberry, beloved wife of the late Lyle Tackaberry passed away peacefully in Calgary on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at the age of 85 years. Trude's Sudeten German family was forced to leave her childhood home in Czechoslovakia in 1939. After a brief journey they landed in Canada at Tupper Creek, B.C. The family put down roots in Calgary where Trude attended local schools and played sports at Central High School. A short time after graduating, Trude met Lyle. They were married in 1951 and started their family. While raising her children, Trude was always an active participant in Home and School Associations and a dedicated Fairview Community volunteer. Trude loved sports and recreation throughout her life and if she was not playing badminton or attending exercise classes, she would often be found cheering on her children and grandchildren at the various activities they pursued. Employed for many years at Foothills Plastic Industries, Trude enjoyed and truly cared for her co- workers. Throughout her life and especially during her retirement, Trude's relationships with her friends from church and the community were incredibly important to her and enriched her life immensely. Trude is survived by her children, Hugh, Nola (Shewfelt), Glenn and Janice, by her grandchildren Scott, Kyle, Kimberly, Brendan, Aaron, Dannica and Delaney and her great-grandson Mason. Trude was predeceased by her son Keith Tackaberry, her husband Lyle and her sister Herta Przeczek. A Celebration of Trude's life will be held at McDougall United Church (8516 Athabasca Street S.E.)
