Anne Rothwell

ROTHWELL, Anne (nee Abell)Anne, beloved mother of Diana (Ross) Purves and Fay (Oscar) Reinhardt, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2010 at the age of 96 years. Anne was born in Keewatin, Ontario but soon moved with the family to the homestead near Carstairs. She taught school at Montagneuse Valley, Fallen Timber, Greenwood, Sunshine and Calgary. In 1940 Anne married Art and settled into farm life at Fallen Timber and later Didsbury. In the spring of 1957 the family moved to Calgary. Family and friends were an important part of Anne's life. She enjoyed gardening, church activities and travels to the U.S., Mexico, Great Britain, Greece, Australia and New Zealand. Anne is survived by grandchildren Sandra, Brian (Vanessa), Sheryl and Heather and great-grandchildren Ariele, Levi and Chaz. She was predeceased by her husband of sixty years, Art; sister, Mary Elves; and brothers Wilfrid, John, Chris and Sinclair. A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 26 at McDougall United Church
