McKEE _ Dellas Edwin
November 23, 1921 - January 26, 2008

With great sadness we announce the sudden death of our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Dellas, at the age of 86 years. He loved his family and is lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his wife of sixty-three years, Dorothy; his daughters Merle of Edmonton, and Janice of Bermuda; his son Stewart of Calgary; grandchildren Treva (fiance Dory) and Jessica; Tara (Jason), Kent and Stephen; and his great-granddaughter, Mira. He is also survived by his sisters, Margaret and Norma of Winnipeg and his brother, Douglas (Ruby) of Melville, SK; his in-laws, Jim and Shirley Barby, George and Vicky Stewart as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his brothers, Donald and John, and his sister, Nada. Dellas was born in Boissevain, Manitoba on his mother's birthday and spent his early years at Sandy Lake, Manitoba. In 1943, Dellas joined the R.C.A.F. and was stationed at Shepard, east of Calgary. During that time, he met his future wife, Dorothy, and they were married on February 26, 1945. They settled in Ogden and started their family. He then built their first home in Millican and became very active in the community, serving as president of the Association. He worked for many years at the B.A. Oil Refinery but his passion was always entrepreneurship. In order to do his own thing on his own time, he founded McKee Construction (67) Ltd. Over the years he bought and developed many rural properties. When he retired for the second time he remained active, spending many hours involved in woodworking, wine making, flea markets and buying and selling antiques. He also constructed toys and furniture for his grandchildren, which brought them all much joy. A Celebration of Dellas' Life will be held in the Chapel of MOUNTAIN VIEW FUNERAL HOME on Friday, February 1, 2008 at 2:00 p.m.
