Ruth Brown

RUTH BROWN
November 9, 1936 - October 7, 2022

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ruth Elizabeth Brown (nee Burden). Ruth passed away peacefully at the South Health Campus on October 7th, 2022, at the age of 85. Loving wife, mother, nan and friend. Always putting others before herself was the way she lived. Her favourite things in life were family, friends and furry creatures. Live simply, love generously and laugh often was her motto. Her last few days were filled with family, friends, love, laughter and great memories.

Lovingly remembered by Jerry, her husband of 62 years; their 4 children Alan (Sharon), Lorna, Chris (Kim), Jill; and her grandchildren Chance (Kelsey), Cassidy, Sam, Max and her best friend and sister Margie and her husband Wayne (Jerry’s brother) as well as many others too numerous to mention. She loved you all!

Born to Moses and Muriel Burden on Gaston Road in Dartmouth Nova Scotia in 1936. Ruth moved to Calgary with her family in 1947. She started work with CIBC at the age of 18 and remained there for her entire career. She loved to interact with the customers and knew many by their first names. But during her time there she was robbed 3 times!

She married Jerry in 1960 and created a home filled with unconditional love that her family, friends and furry creatures were fortunate to be a part of.

Greatly missed and always remembered.
