SCHEIDT, Daniel Joseph
June 26, 1956 - December 7, 2021

It is with sadness that McDougall United Church administration informs you of the passing of William Scheidt's son Daniel Scheidt.

Daniel, passed away peacefully at the age of 65 on December 7, 2021 at Carewest Garrison Green, where he had resided in long term care for the past seven years. For most of his adult life, Daniel endured multiple sclerosis. He battled his disease with strength, courage, and grace, and was an example to all of us on how to deal with adversity.

It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Daniel Joseph Scheidt at Carewest Garrison Green, where he had resided in long term care for the past seven years. Daniel is survived by his son Dorian Scheidt (Carol), his father William Scheidt, his sister Kathleen Elliott, his niece Marlisse Elliott (Will), his nephew Benjamin Elliott, several cousins, and his very special friend Annette Caesar. He was predeceased by his mother Jean Scheidt (nee Love), and his brother-in-law Steven Elliott.

Music was a most important aspect of Daniel's life, and after receiving his Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Victoria in 1982, and then his Master of Computer Science degree from Queens University in 1985, he combined the two degrees and became an established composer of electronically generated music, in addition to being an active percussionist.

For most of his adult life, Daniel endured multiple sclerosis. He battled his disease with strength, courage, and grace, and was an example to all of us on how to deal with adversity. Our appreciation goes out to Daniel's many caregivers over the past seven years at Carewest Garrison Green, where he received outstanding care.
