THIS EVENT IS FULL. PLEASE JOIN THE WAITLIST.

FUTURE WORKSHOPS LIKE THIS ARE CURRENTLY BEING PLANNED

Indigenous participants are invited to come together for a day of healing, meditation and art therapy. A light meal of stew and frybread will be served, with beverages.

The workshop will be facilitated by Certified Recovery Trauma Counsellor Teresa Snow, from the Stoney Nakoda First Nation, with Co-Facilitator Carmel Crowchild, MMIW Searcher and Activist.

Participants will gain knowledge about ways of coping, sharing stories and work through art therapy. They will have a choice to make ribbon skirts or paint a picture for healing. All participants will take part in a healing meditation session. There will be time for a sharing circle in front of the Reconciliation Tipi inside the Sanctuary.

This workshop has limited space so please register early. Free of charge.

We could use a couple volunteers to help with this event. You can sign up here.

Reclaiming Our Spirits — MMIWG Workshop is hosted by the Urban Indigenous Circle and McDougall United Church. Funding was provided by the United Church of Canada, Embracing the Spirit Innovation Grant.
