The big news for 2025 will be the 100th Anniversary Celebrations of the United Church of Canada. Go online to the United Church of Canada website to sign up for the “Anniversary Newsletter.” There will be several special events happening in Calgary including a 100th Anniversary Celebration Service and the public events connected to the General Council meeting here, August7-11, 2025 to elect a new Moderator.

McDougall Community Fund-Raisers & Community Building Events. Be sure and show up for the Fall Artisan Fair on Saturday, October 5, 10-4 pm and get your tickets for the All Saints Dinner and Variety Show on Friday, November 1st.

Annual Orange Shirt Day – September 30th National Day of Reconciliation events hosted at Fish Creek United and other upcoming events.
McDougall Right Relations Fall Fund Raising Envelope – your gift large or small helps us carry on the work of “Right Relations.”
The United Church of Canada Healing Fund Grant of $10,000.00 – 2025 promoting inner-city outreach and support to the Indigenous community in Acadia Place.
Morley Christmas Feast – preparations for and support of the feast in Morley.
Chinook Winds South Calgary Cluster – Five local United Churches – McDougall, Red Deer Lake, Southwood, Lakeview and Fish Creek United Partnering:
Right Relations Programs – including the Healing Fund Grant of $10,000.00

Acadia Pantry – Your support is needed to fund the Pantry, which meets on the 3rd Tuesday of the month at McDougall. A gift of $25.00 feeds a family at the pantry – providing milk, meat and fresh produce. People are lining up far too early, hoping to be first in line to receive a full bag! On Thanksgiving Sunday – You are invited to present “non-perishable food items” at the altar in gratitude or even better, to make a donation to “Acadia Pantry” placed on the offering plate.
McDougall/Christ Moravian Refugee Team - are very appreciative for all the support they received this past summer, housing the extended Palestinian families that they have been supporting. If you would like to be a volunteer, watch for the upcoming programs!
McDougall Affirm Team committed at the Pride Worship Service to offering two learning panels such as a congregational “Lunch & Learn.” Be on the cutting edge of what is happening in Alberta regarding legislation on “Trans-Gender” and Affirm issues.
Calgary Interfaith Council, Calgary Alliance for the common Good – are two key groups in our city. The Calgary Interfaith Council picks up on interfaith dialogue and the Alliance for the Common Good is a leading voice for the poor at City Hall. Check out their websites and the good work they are both doing.
