May Messy Church Wrap Up: Indigenous Event

On May 14, 2022 McDougall hosted an Indigenous event featuring guests Gloria Snow and Ken Leave. Upon arriving, guests were able to get creative and colour some Indigenous colouring sheets while they waited for everyone to arrive. Once everyone had found their table the mic was handed over to Gloria and Ken for them to share some Indigenous creation stories. These were fascinating stories that gave a glimpse into some of the Indigenous culture. Guests were then treated to a delicious meal of Prairie Beef Stew. It included potatoes, carrots, celery, turnips and green peas. For the vegetarian crowd there was a red lentil sweet potato stew. Fresh made coleslaw and buns complemented the amazing dinner (huge thanks to our cooks). For desert there was a Saskatoon Compote and Creamy Rice pudding made with milk. After licking their plates clean, the evening finished off with Gloria and Ken leading everyone in a round dance. It was a wonderful evening!
