COVID-19 Measures“Moving Forward Cautiously” - September 2021
While worship services are no longer subject to restrictions under current Provincial Health Officer Orders, there are many basic precautions we at McDougall United Church can implement to keep our services and programming at a minimal risk setting for COVID-19 transmissions. Many of the measures that were put in place during the pandemic still offer a level of protection and they help to reduce the possibility of transmission of COVID-19.
The following recommendations include:
Wearing of masks when inside the church building.
Practicing safe physical distancing.
Continuing proper hand-hygiene by using hand sanitizer and frequent hand washing.
Maintaining a clean environment thorough routine cleaning and proper ventilation.
Continuing the closure of the kitchen.
Limiting Food Service to catered food and prepackaged food items served by a limited number of masked individuals.
The best way to protect yourself from COVID-19 is to be vaccinated. Through vaccination we are not only protecting ourselves from COVID-19 but those who are unable to be vaccinated.
Any staff or congregation member who is not feeling well should stay at home. Sunday in-person services have been suspended temporarily as a precaution to the further spread of COVID19 amongst our congregation. Services however are available via live streaming and YouTube.
We continue to follow the advice of Alberta Health Services on all health and safety practices and to watch for updates from the Government of Alberta and the City of Calgary.
Thank you for your ongoing support and cooperation,
