Annual General Meeting Wrap Up

Thank you to everyone who was able to attend the 2025 AGM on Sunday, February 23rd.  An extra special thanks to everyone who provide desserts for all of us to enjoy, along with the generous free will offerings.  During this meeting we were able to accomplish the following actions:

  1. Approval of the 2024 Annual Report.

  2. Approval of the 204 Financial Statements.

  3. Election of the 2025 Leadership Council members.

  4. Approval of the 2025 budget.

We were also provided with further information regarding the Shared Ministry between McDougall, Ogden, and Red Deer Lake United Churches.

Barrie Clayton on behalf of the Board of Trustees provided the following information regarding the status of the TELUS Cell Tower:

The City of Calgary has approved the TELUS cell phone tower project for McDougall Church property. Telus is now designing the tower and will be contacting us when they are ready to proceed. That may be sometime in 2025; however, we do not know the timeline yet. No further community engagement is planned, nor is further McDougall input into the design. The Council or Trustees will inform the congregation when we have further information.

We welcomed John Ferguson to our Ministry and Personnel Working Group as well as Paula Sangster as a McDougall member of the Joint Vision and Planning Group.

We welcomed Christopher Kuntz as a new member of the Board of Trustees.

We continue to look for volunteers to be part of the Leadership Council as well as our Ministry Teams and Working Groups. As a congregation member or an adherent being part of the Leadership Council or its associated ministry teams and working groups provides you with an opportunity to enhance your spiritual journey. As mentioned at the AGM we at McDougall are facing a leadership crisis and as a path forward to resolving this leadership crisis we would like to establish a small nomination group to help identify individuals that would be interested in doing this work. If you are interested or know of someone who would be able to be part of this group, please contact either Daren Patterson (daren.denise@gmail.com), Joanne Pritchard (jmpritchard@shaw.ca), or Barrie Clayton (clayfarm@xplornet.ca).

You can also look for volunteer opportunities under the Getting Involved link on the McDougall website.
